Cannes Film Festival was held back for the 63rd time. 'Robin Hood' a collaboration between the director Ridley Scott and actor Russell Crowe will be the first film to be shown at the festival.
As quoted by the BBC, Wednesday (05/12/2010), actor and supporting actress of the movie, like Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Max von Sydow was determined to be present at the event, unless the director Ridley Scott. Reportedly, Scott absent because his knee had not recovered after surgery.
Scott is a director who simply have a name at the Cannes Film Festival. Two of his films made, 'The Duellists' and 'Thelma and Louise' had received awards in the 90s.
Still around Cannes in 2010, the director of 'Alice in Wonderland', Tim Burton, also elected president of film festival juries. This is the third time, the team involved as the Cannes jury. In 1997, he had become a member of the jury and in 2006, he served as chairman of the jury for the short film category. Festival de Cannes was held for 12 days, from 12 to 23 May.
